priority among LGBT survey respondents. Affordable dental, vision,
and general health care were the main health issues.
One in four gay respondents reported unprotected
anal sex (bare backing). Half of these men practiced bare backing
all or 75% of the time.
Human and social services were ranked second
in funding priority among respondents; 10% reported an unmet need
for mental health services.
Human Rights
LGBT civil rights were ranked third in funding
priority; nearly 20% of respondents reported they needed, but could
not access, employment benefits for LGBT partners.
Coming Out
Both LGBT youth and LGBT respondents overall
ranked "coming out" support as most important for youth program
funding.
The performing arts, such as theatre, music
and dance, were given highest priority in the area of LGBT arts
and culture.
HIV
HIV education and prevention was ranked
as the highest LGBT education priority among both respondents overall
and among the HIV-negative.
Seniors
Nearly 1 in 4 LGBT seniors reported assistance
with daily living activities as the most important area for future
senior programs.
