More than 450 patrons
joined the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation to help celebrate our
10th Anniversary on June 24th aboard the USS Midway. The Foundation
was able to raise more than $125,000 to support our mission of
service to the LGBT community, our most successful gala to date!
In
its first ten years, SDHDF has established an essential funding
network in San Diego that promotes equal treatment, tolerance,
wellness, well-being, and above all else – human dignity.
The Gala
is our opportunity to thank the compassionate SDHDF supporters who
helped create this essential resource that improves the quality of
life for San Diego’s LGBT community. With the help of our supporters
SDHDF continues to build a permanent endowment to meet the long-term
needs of our evolving community.
Gala patrons enjoyed wonderful
cuisine, entertainment featuring music from South Pacific and Blue
Hawaii, a spectacular silent auction, and beautiful views of
downtown San Diego. The Foundation also presented the inaugural
Richard P. Geyser President’s Ethics Award to Mr. Leon Williams.
Thanks to all of the individuals who, through their support of the
gala, helped make a difference in our community on important issues
such as aging, arts and culture, civil rights, education, health and
human services.
